For the record this kind of flashy, neon pink is not at all my usual style. The shift began with last year’s gateway flower, the hot pink zinnia. The season hasn’t really started and I have already purchased more than one bright pink flower. What is going on?
Incidentally, I used to think tuberous begonias were passé until I was informed that the flowers are juicy with a sour flavor, making them an interesting pass for lemons during the winter. Since then I have come around.
I don’t believe in anything being passe’ in the garden. I buy and plant what I like whether it’s in fashion or not. What works for my yard layout and soil composition might not work for someone else.
BTW, I love bright flowers un the right setting. This one looks gorgeous.
I remember the hot pink zinnia…this begonia is pretty!
I mean personally passé. I don’t follow the trends I just follow what I like or don’t like…. and I have been a pink hater my whole life. Especially fuchsia. And begonias seemed too old fashioned and flashy. Anyways, I’m over it.
