For the gardener with an unsophisticated sense of humor. Myself included. Tomato’s tend to dominate this theme.
- ‘Cannibal’ Tomato
- ‘Bloody Butcher’ Tomato
- ‘Beaver Lodge Slicer’ Tomato
- ‘Black Seaman’ Tomato – No matter how I say it “seaman” always gets a snicker from the audience when I mention it in presentations and workshops.
- ‘Blow Fleisch’ Tomato – Huh?
- ‘Janet’s Little Sugar’ Tomato – Somehow putting “sugar” in the name leads to an unintended conclusion.
- ‘Magnum’ Tomato – I tried to stay away from the countless big, huge, giant etc jokes.
- ‘Pik’s Yogo’ Tomato – I don’t know what it means but it sounds like I’m getting too much information. Sort of like Oprah’s va-jay-jay.
- ‘Amateur’s Dream’ Tomato
- ‘Cream of Saskatchewan’ Melon
Gayla! You are so neat! You crack me up. Your book finally arrived in the mail yesterday. I’m half way through it. When are you writing the next one? :)
hee hee. thanks for making me (and my very immature sense of humor) smile!
I have to laugh. Thanks for making me giggle.
Oh my god, ‘Cream of Saskatchewan’??? Wow, I am not sure that I want to eat that :) This is the funniest post ever!
Hilarious! Who knew gardening could be SOOOO funny!
Love it!
I cater with a friend and I want to offer “arrangements”…there’s one for ya! We have a small plot of land…mostly sun, I want to grow hydrangeas (we do have some shade), day lilies, star gazers, peruvian lilies, etc. Can you please give me more (better?) suggestions for hardy, fast growing cut flowers that get bigger year after year? I’m in Petaluma, CA, zone 9, I believe. Thx a “bunch” (hahahaha) Vikki
hur a-hur… she said “seaman”… hur… :)
What about “Box Car willy” and “Cream Sausage”? giggle. I know, I’m really mature…
I can’t believe I forgot ‘Cream Sausage’
also, the best/creepiest dahlia…kidd’s climax.
I am assuming ‘Blow Fleisch’ Tomato is a dark-colored tomato. From my experience with German, I think it was originally supposed to be ‘Blau Fleisch’, or ‘blue flesh’ and something got lost in the translation or the spelling.
