My favourite local plant-related event is back!
What: Ontario Herbalist Society Annual Herb Fair
Where: Harbourfront Centre, Toronto
When: Sunday June 4, 2006. 11am-5:30pm
If you’d like to meet for plant shopping, exchanging (bring your extra transplants and seeds), fellow herb loving geekery, and more myself and other YGGers will be waiting in front of the outdoor bathrooms at 1pm.
Plants I Will Have for Exchange:
- a few heirloom, determinant tomato seedlings
- Anise-hyssop seedlings
- Wormwood seedlings
- Scented Geranium cuttings
I’ll take some anise-hyssop if it’s still up for grabs!
That is one plant I do not run out of.
Scented geraniums eh….
I’d love one of those! I also wanted to get a 3 pack of buttons from you… (an I heart dirt, what would nature do, and a garden hoe if available!)
thanks!
see you Sunday!
Hello!
I have planted pots of basil and parsley on my deck. (I learned last year that mint will even take over a planter box…)
I am never sure though, how to take off basil leaves, avoid the flowering that supposedly makes the leaves bitter, but leaves enough leaves to allow the plant to survive! Last year I ended up with very tall and small leaved plants, when I took off the big under leaves.
I don’t know much about herbs, but am trying to learn, and I love the taste!
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
