Grow Write Guild #31: Summer Fruit

growwriteguild_banner600

Summer fruits and berries have been in abundance these past weeks and the experience of foraging, picking, eating, preparing, and preserving them has conjured up all sorts of memories from my past going right back to early childhood when I discovered a black currant bush and onward to my teens when I did fruit picking as a seasonal labourer.

I wonder if the same is true for you? What memories of summers past does ripe, seasonal fruit bring back for you?

Grow Write Guild Prompt #31: Write about your favourite summer fruit.

Further Notes and Questions:

  • Write about a dessert, preserve, or other delicacy that you made using this fruit.
  • Write about a fruiting plant that you grew (or grew up with).
  • Write about a time you went fruit picking.
  • Write about your most hated summer fruit.
