Gayla’s Garden: A Short Film

Photo by Gayla Trail All Rights Reserved

Local filmmaker Stacey Dodge visited my rooftop garden in the spring to shoot a short for the Toronto Urban Film Festival. Fast forward several months and her film (edited by Beau Dickson) was selected and will be showing this Sunday, September 8 on monitors in the Toronto Subway System. The short will be in rotation throughout the day so don’t forget to look up if you happen to ride the subway this weekend!

See the film online here.

  1. Gayla, I have been curious. I have never seen any information posted by you that would really give someone a good idea of exactly where you live…but do you ever get concerned that one day you will find people lounging around your rooftop garden, checking out your hard work in person? Or waiting on your doorstep to ask you questions and get an autograph?

  2. I think a P.O. box is a great idea for you Gayla, you would gets lots of fan mail. E-mail is great but I still love to send lovely post cards and actual pictures of my plants to my friends and family.Trust me you would get lots of pics. from me.

  3. What a good film! I was listening to this piece ( Scarlatti -Sonata in A, K. 24) in the background while the film played, and it was an amazingly perfect accompaniment.

  4. Nice. Short. Film.

P.S. Jody in PA – Gayla (and a few other YGGers) lives in Toronto. Torontonians do not tend to bother each other. Even when we know where each other live … and yes, even if you’re considered “famous” in some circles.
