Another corner of my garden. This is fuzzy ‘Pineapple’ mint growing in a pot. I’ve resolved to grow all of my mint in pots this year. Contrary to reputation, mints behave rather well over at my community garden. The trick to keeping them under control seems to be growing them in less than ideal conditions. Plus, over there they have to fight against the wild and alpine strawberries for supreme dominance and guess who’s winning that war?
Here though, I expect mint to flourish and then some so I’m playing it safe for now. Everyone in pots!
The pretty floral design seen in the shot (above) is the top of a foot stool I found in the garbage the other night. Going out on garbage night around here is like going shopping! We’ve done well outfitting the garden with our neighbours’ discards.
The stool is red and the top is covered in this amazingly vibrant plastic mac-tac. I LOVE it! If the previous owner comes across this photo and realizes their mistake: I’m sorry but you can’t have it back.
I love mint! Going into the garden to pick a sprig for a summer lemonade is the best. :)
Oooooo how I love your mints! My own pot of mint (from which I was anticipating delicious mojitos and salads) has rust (BOO!). Do you know if there’s anything to be done to save it, or do I need to start over?
That stool is killer… what a great find! All of my neighbors are older retired folk and I always feel like I have to be super sneaky to snatch things from the trash… Much more challenging then our former college student filled neighborhoods.
Omg… I’m so excited. I never knew there were so many different kinds of mint. I’ve been wanting to get chocolate mint again, but there is pinapple too?! Who knew? I feel the need to go a mint hunt and buy a ridiculous amount of pots for them…. hmmm….
I love your picture! I had this beautiful mint and collected
the different kinds, chocolate mint,orange mint, peppermint, apple mint,spearmint,grapefruit! But some ‘sticky fingers’
decided that they would all grow better in their pots at their
house! :(

I love the mint. I went to a class years ago about growing different kinds of mint. Thank you for reminding me of one of the things I want to do. Gotta say, the footstool is awesome, what a find!

Gorgeous curbside stool and mint (hot damn, I love dumpster hunting)! This reminds me to re-pot my mint ASAP, they outgrow their posts fast.
Recently I have seen pineapple sage, and now pineapple mint on your great blog. Is this something new or have I just not being moving in the right circles?
