I sat here for a good 10 minutes deliberating how to title this post and decided to play it safe, because truth be told, I have no idea what kind of clematis this is.
This yellow/green stunner is another from Barry’s garden and perhaps he will come by soon and identify it for us.
Here’s a second shot from beneath.
That may be the Chinese Lanterns. I just planted that though it has not bloomed yet.
Is it Clematis tangutica? It looks like it to me.
Was that your blog Global news was mentioning last night on the 6:00 news? If so congrats.
Jen
I’ve never seen this before, very interesting.
I’m in the market for a yellow Clematis, so I was looking at them on Clematis on the Web.
You could check there.

This is Clematis chiisanensis ‘Lemon Bells’, a UBC selection. When at its best it ( not the case this year) it has a dark wine-red flush to the base, which blends into its dark red stem. There is also another C. chiisanensis cultivar called ‘Love Child’, but I’ve not seen it in this region.

Sorry to have sent that twice. Isn’t that Clematis on the Web site great!
