I took advantage of natural light the other day to photograph some citrus.

Top Right: The smallest two are kumquats from my own potted tree.

Gorgeous photographs, I love the glowing fruit and soft, natural lighting.
lovely!!
I like how the light plays off the different textures. Very nice.
Have you heard of an etrog? The latin name is Citrus Medica. It’s a big lumpy citrus fruit used in a ritual during Sukkot, a Jewish harvest festival. I got a chance to smell one a couple years ago and they’re so fragrant! Someone told me that if you store an etrog properly it will keep for about a hundred years. But I don’t know if that’s true.
I also have a question. What’s the trick to growing potted citrus plants? I had a little lemon seedling that died this winter. I don’t know if it died from too much water, or not enough water, or if it decided Montreal just wasn’t the right climate.
Beautiful photos, by the way!
