Orange and Yellow Dahlias

I saw these dahlias while out on a bike ride and had to turn around and go back to take some photos. I’ve come around to dahlias for looking at, but I still don’t have any interest in sacrificing space to grow them. Thankfully there are lots of Portuguese families in my area that fill up their postage stamp lawns with them every summer.

  1. I lovelovelove dahlias. This is my first year growing them, though, and I did *not* realize how big they were going to get. Next year I’ll give them their own little spot so they can leave my tomatoes alone.

  2. Growing my first dahlias this year. It’s just non stop blooming!

Intend to attempt digging up the bulbs and overwintering them in the basement with some peat, my only hope of having them back next year.
