Grass Swathes

I used a portion of the above photo today when I changed the homepage header images to reflect the fall season. I took it last October at the Montreal Botanical Gardens. The display that the grasses put on in the fall has become one of my favourite things about the season. Not coincidentally this new love coincides with a recent affection for grasses and grasslands in general.

If you’re also a fan of open landscapes of swaying grasses I recommend Terrance Malick’s “Days of Heaven” my number one favourite film right now. I can’t deny that it has been the strongest external influence on my photos this past year.

  1. Grasses are sure eye catching. They are nice fillers and barriers should you need such a thing. I think your pic looks graceful as all grasses do when they blow in the breeze.
