Hi, I just got my garlic in for the winter yesterday. This year I have all repeats.

German Extra Hardy
Siberian
Red Toch
Lorz Italian

I had wanted to add Italian Purple hardneck this year, but didn't buy it in time. Will have to remember next year.

I didn't peel the skins off this year and only did a light organic Neptune's soak overnight before planting. No alcohol dips. Hopefully I will get bigger heads next summer. The German I pulled a few months ago was big, but most of all the others were small heads, but medium size cloves.

Mental note, DO NOT LOSE GARLIC CHART LIKE I DID THIS PAST SUMMER. I was only 95% sure on a few types to replant, except for the German, that 1 stood out among all the others.

Can't wait for late spring Very Happy scapes

I lost my planting chart too, so when two of the six varieties from last year's sampler came back, I had no idea what kinds they were. I do know the elephant garlic, at least. I also didn't buy any new bulbs in time for this year. Phooey! I did have a bulb from the grocery store start sprouting in the kitchen, so I figured what the hell, and stuck it out in the ground as well. Maybe when I pull the bulbs at maturity I'll figure out what kinds they were!

My garlic is doing sooo much better this spring than last.

They popped their heads up quite early.

I think it has a lot to do with the fact I didn't peel them this year, LOL.

I finished my remaining cloves from last summer a month ago. I made a large batch of garlic-ginger paste for my indian cooking. I froze it and it's so much easier breaking a chunk off compared to chopping it up before dinner.
