Contributors
You Grow Girl has been online since February 2000. In that time many people have generously donated their time to help make this site possible. My deepest gratitude goes out to them all.
Special thanks to Davin Risk who has offered a tremendous amount of time, help, advice and support throughout the course of this project and beyond. You're a superstar.
Gayla Trail
Gardener, photographer, graphic designer, and crafty gal Gayla Trail is the creator of this web site and the author of the popular gardening book, You Grow Girl: The Groundbreaking Guide to Gardening (Simon & Schuster). An urbanite, Gayla has always gardened in whatever space she had available. She now splits her gardening time between her own little urban farm on a rooftop deck, a community garden plot (farm #2), and a formerly barren patch of public land on a busy urban corner.
Gayla is a regular contributor to magazines, public speaker, and spokesperson on urban gardening, ecology, and community. Her work as a writer, photographer, and urban gardening advocate has appeared in The New York Times, Newsweek, ReadyMade, Venus, BUST, The National Post, Globe & Mail, Toronto Star, Gardening Life, LA Times, Canadian House and Home, 2 Magazine, Gardening and Deck Design, Life Magazine, and more.
Contact Gayla about interviews and writing.
Gayla is a frequent speaker and spokesperson on the topics of urban gardening, and ecology. She also gives hands-on demonstrations to audiences of all ages and has travelled across North America to speak at garden shows, environmental events, garden groups, horticultural societies, and on radio and television programs.
